So
much is said about people breeding the “perfect goat”. Well, here we recognize that there are no perfect goats...and
don’t believe there ever will be. We embrace the concepts of
attempting to improve each successive generation,
but live in a real world. The
breeding of these dairy goats is one of constant motion - of give and
take - of a work in progress. It’s
exciting, it’s challenging, it’s frustrating ... and can be incredibly
sad ... and outrageously fulfilling when it all comes together!
Many
years ago, I was told that “those Nubians just cannot
reproduce” ... "you can’t get a Champion Nubian out of a
Champion Nubian" ...
Well, we believe that we have proven those statements to be incorrect. GCH Kastdemur’s Extasy EX90
- the 1989 Reserve National
Champion produced GCH Kastdemur’s Crown Extatic EX92 - the 1997 ADGA National
Champion/Best Udder. Another success story came from GCH Kastdemur’s Crown Finale EX91, the 1999 ADGA
National Champion/Best Udder who is the dam of GCH Kastdemur’s Aubree EX92
the 2001 ADGA National Champion/Best Udder and 2002 Reserve National
Champion/Best Udder. We've also been able to accomplish that same
consistency with our LaManchas as well, with SGCH Kastdemur's Seven-Up *M
EX91 - the 2001 ADGA Reserve National Champion LaMancha who is the dam
of SGCH Kastdemur's Slice 2*M EX93 - the 2005 ADGA National Champion/Best
Udder.
You
will find relatives of our animals in many herds across the country. We have referred to several of the animals that we have sold
throughout these pages of currently owned animals, and they will also be
included in the
reference section. Bucks we
have sold have gone on to sire National & Reserve National
Champions, National Show Best & Reserve Best Udders, National Show
Jr. Champions & Reserve Junior Champions, National Show class winners, Premier Sire
Award Winners, winners of
production awards, appraisals of VG
or Excellent in many herds, produced numerous GCH’s and
local winners. We couldn’t be prouder of them and thank those individuals
and farms who have trusted in our herd, and have taken animals to a higher level of
success and accomplishment.
In
2004 alone, we exhibited our animals at some of our local shows,
traveled the almost 6,000 mile roundtrip to the ADGA National Show in
Harrisburg, PA, showed at both the Sonoma County Fair in Santa Rosa, and
the California State Fair in Sacramento. Even with all of these miles on the road, they did extremely
well. We finished Championships on seven does, and earned Championship legs on ten other individuals. At the National Show, we were named Runner-Up Premier Breeder of
the Show for the fourth consecutive year, and had many individual &
group placings that you can see detailed throughout the doe/buck pages.
At the Sonoma County Fair we had GCH Nubian with
GCH
Kastdemur’s Finesse 3*M, and GCH LaMancha with GCH Kastdemur’s Bad
News 4*M. Also at Sonoma
(Santa Rosa) our LaMancha Best Three Females entry won the Supreme Best
Three Females Award and our Jr. Champion Kastdemur’s Shasta was Best
Jr. Doe in Show! At the
California State Fair, our Bad News won GCH again and was also Supreme
Best Udder of Show and our 1st pl. LaMancha Best Three
Females entry won the Supreme Best Three Females of Show Award!

Best Udder with Kiona, and Junior Champion with
Always & Forever,
who went on to win Best Junior Doe in Show!
