We were so proud & so touched this year when Survivor came to Nationals with us as a 7 year old and won her class!  She had won as a Jr. Kid in 2001, and has been consistent through the years - but never 1st in the class at Nationals again until now.

Everyone has a story...and Survivor has hers. Her dam Sprite kidded very early in the morning in 2001 (4:00 a.m.!) with two buck kids - I was present for the kidding and subsequent cleaning...No one else was there...or so I thought! 14 hours later, out in the barn to do the evening milking chores, we heard “something”...but couldn’t find anything. Kept hearing it again...and stop...then again...After searching pens several times for the elusive sound of a baby...I was near the hay feeder in Sprite’s pen....and heard that sound...after digging through the day’s feeding we found a barely alive...but dry...and crying white doe kid. Survivor...what else? She’s thrived, she produces, she competes, she does everything...she survives and does it well! Her daughter GCH Kastdemur’s Kadina 3*M who was our 2002 Colorama nominee has done very well for Heather Arts in Idaho, winning Best Udder awards and finishing her Championship.

Survivor is long & lean, sharp and angular...a very “dairy” animal. Her daughter Vanuatu, is now a finished GCH and appraised EX93 (EEEE) as a 3 year old.  Daughter Fiji is really beautiful as well - long and tall, with a beautiful udder - just not mature yet.  We've kept a full brother to these two does as one of our herdsires - *B Kastdemur's Eye of the Tiger appraised VG89.  Tiger shows that same stature & length & stretch we see in his sisters, as do his offspring.

Length of bone, dairyness, angularity, these are the strengths that Survivor passes to her offspring.  We are excited to have repeated the breeding of Vanuatu for 2008 kids!

Bred to:  +B Dagron Taipei's Toronto
Due:  February 25
